Derby’s neighborhoods deserve to be celebrated! The City is proud to hold its 3rd Annual Neighbor of the Year and Neighborhood of the Year award programs to highlight and recognize work being done by neighborhood leaders and residents.

Nominate your neighbor for Neighbor of the Year! Think about someone who goes the extra mile to make their neighborhood a better place, always shows up to help with neighborhood activities, devotes time and talent in service to their neighbors, neighborhood and community, or someone who makes everyone feel included.

Nominate your neighborhood for Neighborhood of the Year! It may be nominated based on projects or activities that build or enhance neighborhood cohesion, create physical or social improvements to the neighborhood, or simply because it deserves recognition for helping make Derby a better place to live.

Any Derby neighborhood or Derby resident can be nominated for these awards.

A panel of judges will determine the winners. Honorees will receive an award certificate, their name on a plaque in City Hall, plus attendance by the Mayor and/or City Council member(s) at an event held by their neighborhood.

Deadline for nominations is Sept. 29, 2023.
