As part of its regularly scheduled maintenance plan, Kansas Gas Service will begin replacing approximately 900 residential natural gas service lines in Derby starting Monday, August 9. The project is expected to take about eight months.
Customers affected by this project will be notified by NPL, the contractor assisting Kansas Gas Service. If direct contact can’t be made, a door hanger will be left at the residence. NPL employees will carry photo identification badges that identify them as working on behalf of Kansas Gas Service.
Some projects may require natural gas service to be turned off for a short amount of time. An NPL technician will need to enter the customer’s home to complete the restoration of service. If the customer is not present, a door hanger will be left with a number to call to request a service turn-on.
If digging is required on the customer’s property, workers will restore the area to its original condition once work is complete.
Work will take place Monday through Friday between 7:30 a.m. and 5 p.m., with occasional work on Saturdays. The first addresses being impacted by the project are attached and should expect work being completed in the next 3-4 weeks. Construction completion dates may vary based on weather, project size and other situations that may arise. As the project progresses notification will be sent out on the other impacted addresses.
