Aug. 25, 2015 - The Derby City Council hosted a Public Hearing to consider establishment of a STAR Bond District. The public was invited to attend. To see the minutes, video or agenda packet from the meeting visit the City Council meetings page.
Sept. 8, 2015 - The Derby City Council approved an ordinance establishing a STAR bond project district. To see the minutes, video or agenda packet from the meeting visit the City Council meetings page.
June 2, 2016 - The Derby Planning Commission determined the Project Plan is consistent with the City's comprehensive plan. Meeting Minutes
July 12, 2016 - A Public Hearing was held to discuss the entire STAR bond project.
July 26, 2016 - The Derby City Council approved the STAR Bond Project Plan and development agreement, and then forwarded to the Kansas Department of Commerce for its approval.
October 21, 2016 - The city received word from the Kansas Department of Commerce that it has approved $18.9 million in STAR bonds for the Derby project.
March 15, 2017 - The city closed on the sale of STAR bonds.
Fall 2017 - Construction on site infrastructure began, followed by hospital and Field Station: Dinosaurs construction.
2018 - Field Station: Dinosaurs opened May 26, 2018.
2019 - Rock Regional Hospital opened. Construction of the first medical office building is under construction.
August 27, 2019 - A Public Hearing was held to discuss a proposed expansion of the STAR bond district.
January 28, 2020 - Project Plan First Amendment & Second Amendment to Master Development Agreement. (Ordinance No. 2422 and Resolution 05-2020)
May 28, 2020 - Project Plan Second Amendment & Third Amendment to Master Development Agreement (Ordinance No. 2431 and Resolution 21-2020)
June 18, 2020 - STAR Bond Series 2020-A Sale (Ordinance No. 2432)
