Parade Route: Begins at Panther Stadium (just east of Madison Ave. and Woodlawn Blvd.), proceeds west on Madison to Georgie, south on Georgie to Market, east on Market back to the middle school.

Fire Station 81 Community Open House


July 4, 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Fire Station 81
715 E. Madison Avenue

Take a tour of our new fire station and administration center. Parking will be limited due to several construction projects. Park at Madison Avenue Central Park (512 E. Madison Ave.) and walk or ride the Derby Dash shuttle to the fire station. 

Fire Chief Brad Smith retires on July 5. You are welcome to attend a retirement reception and tours on July 5 from 10 a.m. to noon at Fire Station 81. Parking will be limited. You are encouraged to park at or near Madison Avenue Central Park and walk or ride the Derby Dash shuttle.


Party in the Park

Bingo & Trains


July 4, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The Venue at Madison Avenue Central Park, 512 E. Madison Ave.

Play Bingo and check out the Wichita Toy Trains on display in the air-conditioned Venue.
Cards are $5/10 pack, $1/blackout card and $1/progressive card. Concessions and bingo for Senior Center fundraiser. Restrooms open to the public.

Derby Historical Museum Open


July 4, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Woodlawn and Market

Check out Derby's 150 year history on Independence Day. The museum has something for all ages. Admission is free, donations are welcome.

Derby Twins vs. Haysville Aviators

Fireworks in the Park


July 4 at 7 p.m. (Fireworks begin at approx. 9:30 p.m.)
Enjoy a fun, family-friendly evening at High Park with food trucks and fireworks.

Food trucks include: Hot 2 Trot Gourmet Hotdogs, The Big Chill, Kona Ice, Lumpalooza, B.S. Sandwich Press, Bierocks Babe, Bongo Fruit Smoothies, Four Star BBQ and Funky Monkey Munchies.

Parking: 
Available off Madison Ave. (grass parking) and off James St. (paved parking lots).

No personal fireworks allowed in the park.
