
Derby Water Division
The Derby Water Division operates to provide the El Paso Water Company water to nearly 10,000 customers in the City of Derby. Established in the 1950s, the company was originally owned by a group of local stockholders. Today, all of the company’s stock is owned by the City of Derby, and the Derby city council acts as the board of directors.
Company Employees
The company's president is the city manager. The vice president is the director of public works. The secretary/treasurer is the Derby finance director/city clerk. The board of directors meets on the fourth Tuesday of the month immediately following the city council meeting.
Water Service
Water service can be turned on the day following request for service or the same day in an emergency situation. If residential or commercial water was turned off due to a disconnect, service can be restored the same day prior to 4:30 p.m Monday - Thursday and 12:30 p.m. on Friday. Water will be turned back on once the past due balance has been paid, including a $30 late fee.
