Sewer Line Maintenance Begins April 27

sewer inspection

Beginning April 27, the City of Derby will begin an expansive sewer line maintenance project with Pro-Pipe Professional Services.

The project includes inspecting and cleaning 225,000 linear feet of sewer lines by a company certified by the National Association of Sewer Service Companies.

What you need to know:

  • The main project area encompasses properties south of Tall Tree Rd. from Rock Rd. to K-15.
  • Crews may need to access your backyard to locate manholes.
  • After sewer lines are cleaned, there could be a foul odor in your home for a brief time. Please run warm water and open doors or windows to help get rid of the smell.
  • This project is expected to last through the end of summer.
  • You will be notified with a door hanger when crews are working in your area.

“While it can be easy to forget about underground sewer pipes, I am proud to be a part of a community that invests in taking care of its infrastructure to ensure it will last and to catch problems early so proper maintenance can be scheduled rather than just responding to problems as they occur,” said Kathy Sexton, City Manager.

If you have questions, contact Tony Koerner at 788-1151 ext. 4211 or tonykoerner@derbyweb.com. We appreciate your patience as we work to improve our infrastructure.
