Carlson Named Derby School Resource Officer

Courtney Carlson

Derby Police Officer Courtney Carlson has been named a School Resource Officer for Derby High School. She will also serve as the D.A.R.E. instructor at Pleasantview Elementary School.

“Carlson was selected as SRO because of her work ethic and involvement with youth,” said Matt Liston, Community Education Coordinator. “After taking over the department’s bike rodeo program, she decided to pursue a path that involves community-oriented policing.”

Carlson has been with the Derby Police Department for five years. She was named Officer of the Year in 2015. She has received a Letter of Commendation and was named a Top Team Member at D.A.R.E. School this summer.
